Planning Retreat

Cited from 'Planning your team-building retreat' from Lynda.com
  1. Gain support and participation from executives
  2. Make sure the planning committee has several planned participants
  3. Be very clear about the purpose for the event
  4. Define educational goals of the retreat
  5. Define activities for the retreat. Choose a few activities that clearly allow you to watch behaviors that relate right back to your educational goals.
  6. Break up the group into teams. You want to bridge new bridges across the lines that often separate us at work.
  7. Sell the retreat to the team. Show clear top management support and define the purpose and expectations up front, long before the day arrives.
