- Give a specific feedback
- Frame things positively, as opportunities, not as simple negative evaluations. Do not chastise someone but genuinely trying to help.
- Give feedback in a timely manner. The best time to give feedback is as soon as possible, as close in time to the performance being addressed.
- Give feedback in an appropriate place (in private and face-to-face).
- Carefully consider the quantity of feedback you wish to offer.
