Engaging High Potential Employees

High potential employees: top 5%, the people who would worry you if they decided to leave.

  1. Make sure they know they are special. Often people with huge ability require a little more attention, not less.
  2. Strive to create very challenging assignments and responsibilities.
  3. Pair up established superstars with high potentials, who are the margin superstars.
  4. Give recognition. High potential employees love recognition, and also love being seen and known by others as being involved in interesting work.
