Hiring to Fill Vacancies

Always remember this truth, hiring someone is easy, getting rid of them is very hard. You might have to live with your decision for many years.
  1. Talk opening with your team about the expectations of the new hire.
  2. Share the workload of the departed colleague widely. Being a leader, one should claim a slice of that work oneself.
  3. Be sure to occasionally manage your boss, and tell him/her about the progress and the status of the search.
